Editing tables on screen
When the Table option is selected from the File/New dialogue, a window is created with the standard set of graphical tools which function as desribed below. The drawing pane of the window contains an array of empty cells, similar to a blank spreadsheet window.

The Pen tool
- A table is a rectangle of filled cells. You can set its size at any time with the 'Set table size' menu command. Providing your entries make a filled rectangular array, empty rows and columns don't matter.
- The top row of a table gives factor names. Each row underneath gives one decision case. The rightmost column entry gives the outcome (classification or decision) for that row.
- Click on a cell to type the text of an entry. Click the green tick or hit Return to accept the entry. Alternatively, use a shifted arrow key to directly select any adjacent cell.
- Text is not case-sensitive anywhere in InterModeller. This means that two fragments of text that differ only in case are regarded as identical.
- Use the asterisk (*) as a 'don't care' or 'wildcard' value.
The Eraser tool
- To delete any cell entry, click in the cell.
- To reverse an erasure, immediately select the 'Undo' command.
- To delete a block of cells at a time, drag (widely) around the block.
The Arrow tool
- This tool is used in conjunction with 'Edit' menu commands to copy and paste data within the window, or even between different table windows.
