Extending a model with graphical images

Normally, InterModeller runs a model using some standard dialogs for questions and advice. But it's very easy to specify your own 'designer' dialogs instead. Designer dialogs can include graphical images so that at runtime, dialogs like this one are displayed.

You need to supply the images as picture files. JPEG is the recommended format for these files although InterModeller can handle other picture file formats too. If you use a search engine such as Google to locate images, look for files with names that end in '.jpg'.

The Pictures folder (alongside InterModeller) is a useful place to store these files temporarily, but do whatever is handy. Once you have your picture file ready, you add it to your knowledge base by selecting one of the 'Design' commands on the 'Build' menu. When you next save your knowledge base a copy of the picture's image is included in the saved file. The knowledge base can be run without requiring further access to the original picture file.

Also, if you decide to generate a different form of model using the Transform command, the graphical images will be copied automatically to the new model.
